MONSTER CAMERA |

Here are some photos of the 16" x 36" camera that I made a few years ago for a good friend. He decided he was getting too old to play with it and gave it back to me. The tripod is also custom made with a big flat top to support the weight. |

The camera is fitted with a 47.5 inch Red Dot Artar and a 24 inch wide angle protar. It has rise, fall, and tilt. Film is spooled on 16 inch cirkut spools with a leader and trailer. There is only one shot per roll and then the film is wound back on the original spool for removal. Springs keep tension on the spools. The film stays fairly flat not to mention that I often use the camera stopped down to f/128 should buckling occur. |

This is a photo of Juneau Alaska taken from two miles away (I used Google Earth to confirm the distance). The red arrow points to a channel marker that is closer, but still probably 1/2 mile away.

Not perfect, but good enough for my purposes. This enlargement would make a print 10 feet high by 22.5 feet long. |
